Ordination. Tallapoosa
Church decided in conference Sunday, May 14,
2017 to ordain Brothers Steve Hightower and Bill
McGee to the office of deacon.
These two have been serving in that capacity for
some time and the church felt like they should
proceed with an ordination service. July
30 (Sunday) Tallapoosa Church will
meet for the purpose of ordaining Brothers
Steve Hightower and Bill McGee. Regular morning
services will start at 10:30 with lunch
following and the ordination
service should begin around 2pm, pending arrival
of visitors. We invite
visitors to attend and request help from our
ordained brethren to assist in the presbytery.
Baptism. Tallapoosa
Church
rejoiced
as Anna Kay
Blair (12) came forward on February
24, 2013 and acknowledged that God had
done a work in her heart and upon a profession
of faith that Jesus was the Son of God, the
church gladly received her and gave her the
right hand of fellowship. Anna Kay
is the daughter of Elder James and Kristen
Blair.
She was baptized on
Sunday March
3, 2013. Anna Kay turned thirteen
during the week before her baptism.
What a wonderful way to celebrate her birthday
and the beginning of her walk with God!
" Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy
youth " Ec 12:1
Although we are not worthy, we are so thankful
for God's bountiful manifestation of his
presence and blessings upon our family and our
church. His mercies are never-ending
and His grace is amazing!
We acknowledge
that all these blessings come by the mercy
and grace of our blessed Lord!

Update
on illness. Sister Gail Settles
reported that the doctors can not explain why
her cancer scans are now normal. They are
confussed and perplexed. Sister Gail, her
family, and the church know how it happened and
we say "Praise God!" Miracles happen every
day. Some are easier to see than others.
Remember that the preaching of the gospel
was also in the list (Mt 11:5, Lu 7:22).
Thank God for the miracle of the gospel of
salvation! The good news of what God has
done, is doing, and will do! Come and see!
(Joh 1:46 ) |

Annual
Meeting.
Tallapoosa's Annual Meeting was held August 10-12.
Elders David
Cawthon and Bob
Mitchell visited with us. We felt
an abundance of God's spirit during the meeting
as the gospel was preached. Saturday after
lunch we entered into communion and had 5
members getting to experience the Lord's supper
for the first time. We had six members
that this was their first communion with their
home church at Tallapoosa. Thanks
be to God for the many blessings he has showerd
down upon us. |
